2026 Local 1070 Nominations

Local 1070 will hold nomination meetings this fall for Officers-at-Large, Delegates to District Council 37, and Chapter Officers. Members interested in running for office or nominating another eligible member should review the dates, deadlines, and requirements below carefully.

Officers-at-Large and Delegates to DC 37

A virtual Special Meeting for nominations will be held on:

Thursday, October 15, 2026
6:15 PM – 7:15 PM

Nominations will be accepted for the following positions:

President
Vice President
Secretary-Treasurer
Recording Secretary
Two (2) Delegates to District Council 37

Email nominations may be submitted October 1 through October 14, 2026 and must be received by 8:00 PM on October 14. Nominations from the floor will also be accepted during the October 15 Special Meeting. Local 1070 2026 Nominations

To be eligible for an Officers-at-Large position, a nominee must be a member in good standing for the two years immediately preceding the election.

Chapter Officer Nominations

Virtual nomination meetings for Local 1070 Chapter Officers will be held on November 12 and November 13, 2026.

Court Clericals — 6:00 PM
Court Reporters — 7:00 PM
Court Interpreters — 8:00 PM
DA Clericals — 9:00 PM

Friday, November 13, 2026

Secretaries to Judges — 6:00 PM
Law Stenographers — 7:00 PM
DA Stenographers — 8:00 PM
Department of Probation — 9:00 PM

Nominations will be accepted for the following positions in each chapter:

Chapter Chairperson
Chapter Vice-Chairperson
Chapter Secretary

To be eligible for a chapter office, a nominee must have been a member in good standing for a one-year period immediately preceding the month in which the election takes place. Local 1070 2026 Nominations

How to Submit a Nomination

Nominations may be submitted to the Local 1070 Election Committee at:

For the November 12 meetings, email nominations may be submitted November 1 through November 11, 2026 for Court Clericals, Court Reporters, Court Interpreters, and DA Clericals.

For the November 13 meetings, email nominations may be submitted November 2 through November 12, 2026 for Secretaries to Judges, Law Stenographers, DA Stenographers, and the Department of Probation.

Nominations from the floor will also be accepted at the applicable Special Meeting. All nominations close at the conclusion of the applicable nomination meeting.Local 1070 2026 Nominations

Members may register to attend the nomination meetings virtually at:

At the nomination meetings, nominees will have an opportunity to speak for two (2) minutes to explain to members why they are the best candidate.

Important Information

Nominations received after the applicable deadline will not be considered.

Nominators must provide specific information about themselves and the person they are nominating when submitting a nomination by email.
