Local 1070 is one of 51 locals within District Council 37, New York City’s largest public employees union, representing more than 150,000 active members and 50,000 retirees. Through AFSCME, AFL-CIO, our broader union family includes more than 1.4 million members nationwide.

Local 1070 represents members working in the District Attorney’s Office, the Department of Probation, and Public Administrator’s Offices. Represented titles include Clerical Associates, Grand Jury Reporters, Paralegal Aides, and Secretaries.

We also represent members throughout the New York Unified Court System, including County Clerk, Family, Criminal, Civil, Supreme, and Surrogate’s Courts. Represented titles include Clericals, Court Interpreters, Court Reporters, Law Stenographers, and Secretaries to the Judge.
